We spent a quiet Christmas Eve at home, as a new family. We had Italian food (take out), and took some photos by the Christmas tree. Ilaria enjoyed opening her presents from the family -- thank you, family.

Baby's First Christmas

Merry Christmas!

Ilaria enjoyed her first Christmas with the DiSalle's. She slept through the whole day, but showed her bright eyes when we put her in the car seat to go home.

Barb, Dan, and June stayed a while with the new family to provide some much needed rest, food, and great company. THANK YOU!

2 weeks and counting

Ilaria had her 2-week doctor's visit, and she passed the check. She is now at 8 1/2 lbs.

We looked up the meaning of her name (should we have done that before she was named?) and were pleasantly surprised. We even learned that St. Ilaria day is Dec 3, which is the night when she began her entry into the world.

Ilaria

English translation/equivalent: Hilary, Hillary

Origin: Derived from the Latin Hilaris (and taken from the Greek hilaros) meaning "happy, cheerful, glad."

Name Day/Onomastico: December 3—in memory of the Roman martyr St. Ilaria.

Here is a photo of Ilaria hanging out with Simon and Noah Beck.

growing up

Ilaria weighed in at 8 lbs, 2 oz. today, which is up 1 lb from her lowest weight at the hospital -- they don't feed anyone very well at the hospital :)

Mom and dad are getting the hang of feeding and all things baby. Sometimes, we even feel like normal people... just for a minute or two.

Announcing Ilaria Rose Hinton

Ilaria Rose Hinton joined the family on December 4, 2009 at 1:17am. She was 7 lbs. 13 0z. and 20 inches long at birth. Jodee and I give our most sincere thanks to our families and friends for their love and support (lots of support!).
